Adding a Control

This article outlines and overview Adding a Control within Risks, Controls and Tests.
1. Adding a Control
- Once a risk is added to the first column of the Work Programme Template the ability to add controls will become activated.
- Select the relevant risk to which the control belongs and select the ‘Create New Control’ icon
- The option to either ‘Create new control’ or ‘Import control’ will be available. Please note that importing a control works in the same manner as that outlined above for the Risk
- Select Create new control
- This will activate the Control Editor screen
- Enter the control within the Description field
- The user also has the option to choose a Control Type. This list of types, like Key or Standard Control is created and maintained under
- Tools
- Configuration
- Defined Lists
- Work Programme Control Types
- Some users may be using a system whereby Controls are assessed in relation to their design and adequacy. If this is the case a range of possible answers will need to be provided for the Auditor to use during assessment
- To add a range of possible answers, select a default answer list using the Answer List icon or add in tailored answers by using the plus icon. These numbers can also be negative
- Standard Control Answer Lists can be created within

- Configuration
- Defined Lists
- Work Programme Control Answers
- Once the Control is added, it will appear in the second column of the Work Programme Template when the relevant risk is selected from the first column
- To add multiple Controls, follow the same process
- Select the relevant Risk and then create the new Control
