This article outlines and overview of Adding a Test within Risks, Controls and Tests
1. Adding a Test
The final level in a Work Programme Template is to create the Tests that are actually going to be carried out.
- To create a Test select the relevant Risk and Control and select the icon
- From the drop down list select New and then Test
- There are three items that can be created
- A Test
- A Text Field
- A Linked File
- To add a Test select the Test option in the menu
- The Test Editor will activate. There are several more fields attached to a Test than that attached to a Control or Risk
-
Text
- Enter the test description in this field
-
Notes to Auditor
- Here further details can be documented in relation to what an auditor should test if there are any specific documents or sample sizes that should be examined
-
Default Evidence Ref
- Here specific reference can be made to any hard copy file or documentation
-
Test Answers
- The test has to have a range of possible answers attached to it for the auditor to select from when out in the field
- A range of answers can be connected to the Test by selecting the Answer List icon. This will reveal a list of answers which are either default or configured
- Select one of the list names and the range of possible answers will automatically be added to the Answers panel
- Next to each answer will be a numerical value in brackets. This value represents the score that will be awarded to the test if that answer is selected
- The highest value in the list is always the answer that will equal 100%. Therefore, in the example above if Fully Compliant was selected the Test would receive 100%, if Substantial Compliance was selected 70%, Partial 40% and Non 0%
- When the Work Programme Template is used during fieldwork, two other options will automatically be added to any answer list used. Not Assessed and Not Applicable, which can be determined in
- Tools
- Configuration
- System Configuration
- Work Programme Templates
- Work Programme Template Design Settings
- Answer list standard item
- These default answers cannot have a value associated to them or they would contribute to the score of the Audit
- To change the answer list selected, select Answer Lists and select a different option from the dropdown menu. The user will be prompted to remove the existing answer list before adding a replacement one
- To add an additional answer to the list or to create a new answer list, select the icon
- A new window will open
- In the Key field add the individual possible answer/rating and then a numerical value
- Select OK to save the answer, Cancel to discard it
- At this stage the user is not contributing to the fieldwork, only designing which answers can be selected during fieldwork. Please note any amendments made to the answer list for an individual finding do not affect the original answer list held in Configuration
