Adding User and Role Assignments

This article outlines an overview of Adding User and Role Assignments within Entity Access Lists. Access can be set to Allow or Deny for individual levels of the Audit Universe, or against entire sections that may encompass multiple levels.
1. Adding User and Role Assignments
- When an entity is selected from the list it becomes highlighted in blue and the existing assignments are presented to the user.
- The default assignments are set to Everyone (i.e. all Audit users, Risk users and Business Users) Allow.
- Access assignments operate as a top-down structure, meaning that assignments made at the highest level of the Universe will automatically apply to all lower levels. However, it is still possible to manually apply assignments to each level of the Universe as required.
- Where the access provided to Audit users and Risk Users should not be modified, the default Everyone assignment should remain unedited.
- To Deny areas of the Audit Universe or Project Universe, additional assignments can be added specific to individual Users, or groups of users that belong to a Role.
- To create a new user assignment against the level of the Universe selected, click once on Add User Assignment:
- In the subsequent screen, select the user (or users) using the tick-boxes provided and ensure that the assignment type chosen at the top of the screen is appropriate.
- Select OK as indicated above and the new assignment will be displayed.
- If changes have been made in error, select Cancel to remove the new assignment. To save the changes select Update.
- The following confirmation banner will be shown.
- Please note that when logged in to the online portal as a Business User, User assignments can only be created for other Business Users.
- To create a new Role assignment against the level of the Universe selected, click once on Add Role Assignment.
- In the subsequent screen, select the Role (or Roles) using the tick-boxes provided and ensure that the assignment type chosen at the top of the screen is appropriate.
- Please note that when logged in to the online portal as a Business User, Role assignments can be created for all users, including Audit users and Risk users that may belong to the Role chosen.
- Select OK as indicated above and the new assignment will be displayed.
- If changes have been made in error, select Cancel to remove the new assignment. To save the changes select Update.
- The following confirmation banner will be shown.
- To adjust the assignment type for existing User assignments or Role assignments, use the on-screen options to switch between Allow or Deny as needed.
- Where adjustments are made in this manner, ensure that the Update button is also selected to save changes to the server.
- In doing so the confirmation banner will be shown once more.
