In the latest release, version 12.0 introduces significant enhancements to audit file and metadata templates, providing users with expanded functionality and improved flexibility. These developments aim to streamline the audit process and enhance the management of metadata across various audit activities.
1. Audit file templates
1.1 Stages and tasks
- When considering the placement of each individual task, it is now possible to use the Move up and Move down options between Stages.
2. Metadata templates
2.1 Import/export
- When importing Metadata templates from an external .mkmt file source, additional provisions have been added to the import wizard to identify an Existing active template with same type in use. These are automatically de-selected by the wizard to prevent existing active templates from being overwritten unnecessarily.
- It is also possible to change the Linked Type at the point of Import by clicking once on the current Linked Type to see a list of available options.
This means that templates already created for specific areas of the system, or other configured databases (i.e. Training and Live), can be imported and re-assigned to other areas as needed.
2.2 Groups
- When considering the placement of data elements within Groups, drag-and-drop is supported to relocate items between Groups as needed.
- In scenarios where there is only one Group heading which is no longer required, it is now possible to select the Group and Delete it, while all associated data elements remain unaffected and enter a non-grouped state.
2.3 Information text
- The second new data element for the current version, Information text can be broken down into two different uses: An Information label or a Section break.
- When adding Information text to a template, regardless of its intended use, the Description field must contain the desired output. This is unique methodology for this specific data element.
- Under the properties the Appearance can be set to Information label or Section break by clicking once on Edit Property. Other properties govern the surrounding space afforded to the information text.
- Selecting to Preview template design in the main toolbar will confirm the design prior to making the template status Active for use.
