The 12.0 Annual Planning Interface introduces a range of enhancements aimed at streamlining the planning process and improving user experience. With renamed features, locked filters, and relocated options, users can expect a more intuitive and efficient interface for creating, managing, and reviewing audit plans.
1. Overview
Key updates to the user interface have been applied to the Annual Planning Available Resources, Rapid Plan and Annual Plans sections, including that of configurable Review Policies, providing greater flexibility for different approaches to the creation and management of new and existing annual plans.
Visual changes inherit all of the same functionality as prior versions, while allowing users to choose to show or hide various elements, therefore maximising the desktop area available.
2. User guide
- The Rapid Plan has been renamed to Planning Assumptions, now featuring available resources which can be found as Auditor data against each user in Plan resource details.
- The primary planning filters are now fixed to the left-hand pane, visible with the standard show/hide arrows found across the system.
- Below, the filters are hidden, as observed from Plan audit details.
- Subsequently, the filters are displayed, now showcasing the button to Apply filter to the Planning Assumptions.
- The Adjust visible columns feature has also been relocated to the top-right corner of Plan audit details.
- This presents a standard check-box window to determine user preferences, instantly updated upon selecting OK.
- Creation and management of plans now occur within Annual Plans, condensed into two main areas: Create baselined plan and Manage baselined plans.
- Create baselined plan is where the plan is generated, with filters locked to the left-hand pane and supplemented by the Start date and Finish date of the plan.
- To create and view the plan immediately, select Generate plan.
- To proceed to the review procedure and activate the plan for use, select Create baseline in the top right-hand corner.
- Options provided include a new function to Automatically approve the new Audit Plan if the current user has permission.
- When selecting OK, the plan will move to Manage baselined plans or, when automatic approval is not selected, will enter the status In Progress.
- Users will encounter the review procedure, consistent with other core modules of the system.
Note: Only Approved Plans can be imported into the Schedule and Audit Management and reported on within Dashboards.
- The Audit Plan Review policy can be configured centrally within Tools > Methodologies > Entity Review Policies, supporting a multi-level review structure if required.
