The 12.0 Entity Lock Management enhancements introduce significant updates aimed at the system's lock management capabilities. These improvements include specific tolerances for intermittent server connections and the centralisation of the Remove lock function.
1. Overview
Revamped to enhance operational efficiency, the Lock Management system now incorporates precise tolerances to accommodate unreliable server connections.
The Remove lock functionalities have been centralised within the main Tools menu, while maintaining the secure backup principles intact and upholding the permissions governing lock management for individual modules.
2. User guide
- With the permission to remove locks granted to the user for any applicable module in the system, Entity Lock Management becomes accessible in the Tools menu.
- The Entity Lock Management screen displays a list of all items currently locked and available for removal by the logged-in user. Utilise Entity type, Unique ID, Lock date, and Lock owner to locate the necessary item. Check the box next to each item and select Remove lock from the ticked items.
- A critical action warning appears, reminding users that pending changes made by the lock owner will be lost. Select Confirm continue to proceed or Cancel to revert.
Note: This method should not be used to reassign work from user to user; instead, follow the secure backup procedure regularly to save work to the shared server.
- This action is logged in the system event log, accessible via Tools then View the event log.
