Locking and Unlocking

This article outlines an overview of Locking and Unlocking within Users, Roles and Permissions. Where Archiving is not appropriate, Business User accounts can be Locked to temporarily prevent access to Pentana. While there are additional settings with the System Configuration that control automated account locking, the procedure can be completed manually against individual users.
1. Locking and Unlocking
- Open the relevant user from the Business User list and within the Details tab, scroll to the bottom of the window to locate and select Lock account.
- Click Close to return to the Business User list, where the Type column reflects the recent change applied.
- Business Users with Locked accounts cannot log in to Pentana until their account is Unlocked. While the lock applies, they may still be associated to Recommendations or Actions as normal.
- Unlocking of locked accounts can only be performed on a user-by-user basis. Follow the same procedure to open the appropriate Business User account and locate the Unlock button.
- Select the Close button to return to the main Business User list.
