Introducing a pivotal feature in Version MK 12.0, the incorporation of the Audit Universe and/or the Process Universe as custom properties offers teams a substantial advantage in linking activities seamlessly. See below for more information.
1. Overview
Representing one of two new metadata elements in Version MK 12.0, the ability to use the Audit Universe and/or the Process Universe as a custom property presents a significant advantage to teams wishing to link activity together without impacting the structural origin of the work.
Developed primarily for the Recommendation Tracking module, though extended for use throughout the system, it provides the opportunity to document scenarios where the outcomes of audit activity affect other areas of the business that were not the principal focus of the audit itself.
2. User guide
- In the Template Designer module, the new element appears in the existing Type list when adding a New data element to Metadata Templates.
- The user sees Audit entity universe and Risk entity universe segregated to support configurations where the same structure is shared across Audit and Enterprise Risk Management, which may have different levels of Entity Access Rights applied.
Note: The web portal only supports a single entity universe element per template.
- Select the relevant element Type and define the Name before selecting OK.
- Once created, several properties can be edited, including that of the Universe type, which controls the ability to include or exclude the Process Universe as well.
- Each one of the properties available to configure includes a brief description of the activity controlled when selecting Edit property.
- In instances where several other elements and groups form part of the overall metadata design, the Preview template design option provides the user with an opportunity to visually check the placement of any new items added.
- Once the design is finalised, ensure the template is saved, reviewed, and the status is Active for use.
