The article discusses enhancements made to the Calculation element, allowing it to incorporate formulas driven by List items and display outputs with labels and colours alongside numerical values. These improvements offer users greater flexibility and visual clarity in their calculations within the system.
1. Overview
The existing Calculation element has been improved upon to accept formulas driven by List items, with the calculation output now supporting labels and colours in additional to numerical values.
2. User guide
- Each List item must be assigned a numerical Value to facilitate integration.
- Use the established Calculation element to apply the defined value within the formula.
- List items can be selected within the Formula settings by choosing Edit property.
- Utilise drag-and-drop functionality to add elements from the left pane to the formula on the right. The example below highlights the List elements in use and a basic formula:
- The output of the calculation retains a numerical value but can feature custom labels.
- Formula labels, though optional, can be assigned during the editing process to provide context to the output value.
Note: Should the formula require a standard numerical value output, this setting may remain as None.
- When selecting Edit property, users can set threshold values and assign labels and colours as needed.
- This feature, familiar to users of Annual Planning and Risk Assessment methodology, enhances flexibility in output presentation. The example below indicates the use of configured formula labels:
- Required labels are quickly inserted or removed using the Add and Delete buttons provided.
- Unlike Risk Assessment methodologies, there's no obligation for consecutive From-To values, offering enhanced adaptability in label application. This allows the user greater flexibility over the displayed output in instances where, for example, a specific result should not inherit any label at all.
- Users can observe the calculated results with the applied label and colour configurations.
